Being at Chennai since 2004, Rai Business School practices innovative Teaching and Evaluation techniques to ensure that all students get equal attention and a fair deal during their tenure.
A. Pedagogy
- the Teaching Strategy
TL = CRL + ABL + RBL
This is the simple and realistic Pedagogique equation
practiced at Rai Business School Chennai
The Total Learning TL of
a Management student is the sum of Class Room Learning
CRL, Activity Based Learning ABL
and Research Based Learning RBL.
All three components are equally important and they
bind each other forming complete learning of the Management
Aspirant
1. Class Room Learning - CRL
We Indians value our "Guru - Shishya"
relation a lot and too nostalgic about it being practiced
from childhood. The Mentor plays an important role
to a Management Student not only on attending classes
but to share views, discuss issues, solve personal
problems and being a good friend too in deed. Rai
Business School provides the best Teachers - both
Permanent Faculty members and Visiting Faculty to
ensure smooth Class Room Based training making our
students successful in academic levels and clear their
examinations with flying colors.
2. Activity Based Learning - ABL
Events, events and events…….
Rai Business School emphasizes both indoor and outdoor
events. There are events fully sponsored and managed
by the School and some other events sponsored by the
School but fully managed by students. Students undergo
minimum one major event and some smaller events in
each semester which will enhance their team spirits,
leadership capabilities, attitude, spot decision capability
and social responsibilities. There are as many inbound
and outbound programs apart from Industrial Visits
and Domestic / International study tours.
3. Research Based Learning - RBL
Assignments, Case Studies and Industrial
Projects control the nerve system of Management Education.
Research activities are inculcated throughout to activate
Truth Hunting, Self Support, Time Management, Creativity
and Innovation. All components in RBL are so crucial
and we ensure that the students go through it successfully
and will emerge as a complete management professional
at the end of their tenure. Research Based Learning
also improves communication skills, confidence and
interpersonal skills as they meet many professionals
and public during the activity. It also makes the
students "realize the reality" while engaged
with hands on experiments in the field.
B. Evaluation Techniques
Although learning is said to take place in a stress-free
environment, proper evaluation always makes learning
meaningful.
The pedagogic exercise would define the objectives
of a model and what the recipient should achieve after
undergoing that model. The evaluation would conclude
how he/she would enhance the skills which would result
in a better job- behavior.
By doing this case study, the students would
be able to:
1. Understand and state the problems.
2. Put down the reasons for the problems.
3. Say how the problems could have been avoided.
4. State the person(s) responsible for the creation
of problems.
5. State how the issue could be solved with minimum
or no damages
6. Say how such issues could be averted.
7. Enhance problem solving techniques and crisis management
at work.
8. Develop team building, inter-personal skills, communication
and presentation skills.
All students may not fall in same category in the
learning process. There are (A) Fast learners, (B)
Slow learners and (C) Hard learners
Students of each category will be asked to state the
learning on the above eight parameters through verbal
and written tests. Similar exercise will be conducted
for assignments, events etc.
These scores are properly documented and evaluated
by the faculty in the presence of the Academic Head.
The additional help or supporting arm required for
B (slow learners) and C (hard learners) would be taken
up seriously to ensure that all students have their
equal opportunity to learn, perform and get placed
in their dream places.
