As a part of the value addition activity and to make the students more industry equipped, Rai Business School, Chennai offers the students a Certificate Course on Supply Chain Management,in collaboration with the Logistics Wing of CII. The inaugural ceremony of the Program for the 2009-2011 took place at the Seminar Hall of the Institute on 4th September 2010 . The inaugural session started with a prayer Song followed the Welcome address of Prof. Venkateswaran, Head - Academics, RBS Chennai, welcoming the chief guest of the occasion Mr.R Ramesh and delegates from CII, Prof. Ramani and Prof.Uma Maheswari. He also introduced the Chief Guest to the crowd. With an extensive industrial experience in the area of logistics, nobody can be a better delegate than Mr. R Ramesh , who is currently honoring the designation of Head Logistics of Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd, to light the Kuthuvilakku and inaugurate the function. The inaugural address of Mr. Ramesh was a bird's eye view on the various intricacies of the management area of logistics and its increasing importance in the current business scenario. He also commented that after IT, Logistics Management is going to be that one area which is exploding with job opportunities. He also undertook the distribution of Compaq Laptops for the First Year students at Rai Business School Chennai. Students who were eagerly listening to his words checked with him the growing opportunities in the area of Logistics. As a token of love and affection of the management, staff and students of RBS Chennai, Prof. Venakteswaran, handed over a memento to Mr. Ramesh. This was followed by National Anthem indicating the close of the inaugural function. The first session of Logistics Management was taken up by Prof. Ramani soon after the inauguration. Photo Gallery
